As well as being a designer I also teach which can be both challenging and rewarding. It’s always a pleasure to hear from previous students how they are doing and what they are up to at university. One such student is Jake Hollings, who left last year and he has a blog which is full of exciting work. He is currently studying Illustration at Huddersfield University and he is wanting to branch out into freelance work.
This is what Jake has to say, (apart from thanks for being a fab tutor of course…!),
“I’ve been updating my blog, and I’ve created an online portfolio too. I just wanted to ask you if you would take a look at them and tell me what you think? Also, would there be any chance of you posting a link to them on your blog to help promote my work? I have been using twitter a lot to help promote myself too and I’m getting there slowly but surely.”
You can see the journey Jake is on through his work and you can really see it pertaining to the music industry, CD covers etc.
I think the work is creative and original and he should continue to keep pushing the boundaries and looking back in time for inspiration.
